Previously known as the Jade Sky Ride/Hike, the first event took place in 2007 to raise funds for Jade Preston (8yrs) who was diagnosed with Leukaemia . Ian and Mandy Tyrer put a trip together of cyclists and supporters, from Lesotho border post at Fouriesburg to Sani Pass border post. A three day, 200km challenge. Sadly Jade passed away, but the event became an annual tribute to little Jade. The event is supported by Maritzburg Tutor Centre (MTC) and now held from the Sani border post to the Highest Pub in Africa, return, to honour all cancer patients who have passed away from this illness. Also to support those currently challenging the disease, as well as celebrating with those who are cancer-survivors!
